Over the past few months, each of us has had the opportunity to practice resilience. Society has convinced us that resilience requires us to move forward, move on or bounce back quickly. However, there will be times in our lives when resilience may require that we be still. Yes, we can be still and be resilient. This may be a challenging concept. Our lives are full of family and work commitments, appointments, opportunities, the next thing, and other things.

We can reduce the heaviness we feel by stopping and being still.
Creating mindful moments by reflecting on where we are, resetting our minds, and rethinking the situation.
Allow yourself to feel the situation. Don’t try to force and rush past the moment. Give yourself permission to feel whatever you feel.
Don’t allow external pressures to consume your thoughts.
The longest relationship that you will ever have is the relationship that you have with yourself. Resilience allows us to accept what is happening now, let go of what was, and pivot to the future. We can choose not to speak or think negative thoughts. We can be intentional and direct our thoughts more positively. As we continue to grow, change and develop, our resilience skills will continue to expand.
Let’s take this moment to be still, dig deep within, stop negative thoughts, and be intentional about what is next. Let’s declare that something good will come out of every situation. We can bend but not break! When we practice resilience, we can get more out of the life we create.
